DAR VISITS MMS!

Mr. Johnson’s history students at Mena MIddle School celebrated Constitution Day on Friday, October 19th... Students participated  in several classroom discussions & classroom writings during the week…The major project of the week was a poster contest which highlighted the amendments that students believed to be the most important in our society today…Students also memorized the preamble for extra points… The James K. Polk chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution helped by providing resource materials & the Constitution Quest board game…Cortez Copher  & Dotty Kinnun from the D.A.R.  presented the Constitution Quest game to the library…. Through activities and class discussion the students at M.M.S. gained a better understanding of the U.S. Constitution as a living Document that defines our freedom as Americans…At Mena High School  classes divide up what documents are covered. One class does the Constitution, one does the Bill of Rights, voting and civil rights amendments as well as the Declaration of Independence…
