Brotherton Week 7 P.O.W.!
Mena Coaches select #82, Junior TE/DE, Mason Brotherton as the Farm Bureau Insurance Player of the Week for week #7 vs. Elkins. Mason had one touchdown reception for 18 yards and 4 QB sacks to help lead the Bearcats to a big conference road win over Elkins by a final score of 42-6.

Mason is the son of Christy Harrison and Greg Brotherton. He is also the grandson of Beverly and the late William Harrison and JV and Paula Brotherton. Mason enjoys working out in the gym, even in the off season and hopes to play college football after graduation from MHS. He also indicated that he would like to become a football coach once his college career is finished.

This week, Mason and the Mena Bearcat Football team will make a much shorter trip north, to take on perennial rivals, the Waldron Bulldogs, who posted their first win of the season, last Friday night over Subiaco Academy Trojans by a score of 42-18. The Bearcats are in position now for a good post season run and each game is crucial as far as playoff seeding is concerned and will ultimately lead up to a huge match-up against the Dardanelle Sand Lizards in week #10.

Shown presenting Mason with the game ball are Head Coach Craig Bentley and Polk County Farm Bureau Agency Manager Tony Hooper.
