Rise & Shine Assembly at Louise Durham Elementary on Friday, February 24th. Several awards were given. Including one for attendance, students of the month in each class, staff member of the month as well as best dancers. Plus Mena High School theatre students performed a skit about respect and kindness.

At Thursday's meeting of the Rotary Club, Dr Lee Smith and Bridgett Buckley of Mena Schools told us about a new disciplinary program implemented by the school system. They work with prosecuting attorney Debra Buschman's office to help the students achieve a positive outcome and a new direction for their lives. Mena Public Schools

(Wear Bright Colors/Neon/Tie dye) Friday- Team up to Celebrate Life, by being a Drug Free Mena Bearcat (Dress like Twins/Teams in Bearcat Colors)

Box tops are now completely online so starting today you can download the app, scan receipts, and help Louise Durham raise money with just a click of a button! You can collect your physical and/or online receipts and scan year around! Our goal is to reach $1,000 this year! If you do not have a student at Louise Durham, you can still participate by selecting our school when creating your account. We hope that each of you will take the chance to support our school with this opportunity. Prizes will be given to the classrooms with the most box tops collected later this school year!

Wednesday was Grandparent Day at Louise Durham Elementary. Several were on campus reading to students including this group in Courtney Warren's class.

Pre-K grandparents took advantage of a great opportunity on Wednesday. Those who responded to the invitation came to Louise Durham Elementary to read to their grandkids and other students. Thank you to everyone who made Grandparents Day at LDE so much fun.
