Last week, the Mena Public Schools Alternative Education team had the opportunity to attend the Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators (AAAE) Summer Conference in Jonesboro.

We spent three days learning from outstanding educators across Arkansas, sharing ideas, exploring innovative practices, and collaborating with colleagues who are passionate about helping every student succeed. Professional learning opportunities like this allow us to reflect on our own practices while gaining new strategies and perspectives to better serve the students and families in our district.

We're grateful for the opportunity to represent Mena Public Schools and are excited to bring what we learned back to our classrooms and programs as we prepare for a new school year.

A special congratulations to our own Shanda Craig, who was recognized during the conference as the Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators Outstanding Support Staff Award recipient. We couldn't be more proud of this well-deserved honor!
