Cold & wet weather kept Mena Middle School students indoors during lunch on Thursday & this gave them an opportunity to take advantage of the library makerspace.

The Mena School District has provided the opportunity to our Response To Intervention (RTI) specialists to attend the Summit on RTI at Work in Austin, Texas. The leading experts in the field will be equipping our specialist with the resources needed to help develop and implement the strategies to ensure ALL students learn at high levels and positively impact student achievement.

The Mena Middle School Project Prevent team has been busy celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week. Members have made dailey prevention announcements along with kindness quotes of the day. The team has distributed Kindness Challenge sheets to students. They have challenged students to a kindness button design contest as well as a tab collecting contest to support the Ronald McDonald House. Today students treated teachers with popcorn and water bottles with nicotine prevention messages attached.

LDE, HHE & MMS are collecting pop tops in support of Ronald McDonald House. The drive continues through May. The program raises funds , through recycling, that helps pay for families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House while their child is receiving treatment at the hospital.
