From Mrs. Breedlove: There has been a change on the location for Cheer tryout clinic. It will no be at MMS today and tomorrow.

We will reopen the ball box today. It will remain open until the balls are being left outside.

HUB Program Applications are still available in Mrs. Buckley's office. If you are interested in the HUB program for 2020-2021, you are welcome to pick up an application in the office.
JAG Work Applications (upcoming juniors and seniors) are available for next year's JAG Work class. If you missed the priority deadline to turn in your application last Friday, see Mrs. Purvis in room 403 for more information.
All current seniors who are a member of National Honor Society, a group photo will be taken at the start of Enrichment for the yearbook. We will call for NHS members when it’s time for the picture.


The Mena Ladycats will play their first game in the 4A State Basketball Tournament on Wednesday at 4pm against Pea Ridge in Farmington.... GO LADYCATS!!!

Austin Johnston and Cason Cannon took 1st place Saturday on Lake Greeson in the Bassmaster Arkansas High School Tournament. Go Basscats!


The 4th grade Quiz Bowl team participated in the Murfreesboro Invitational Quiz Bowl on Friday, February 28. There were 12 teams. Our team was seeded 5th after lunch. They fought harder when the games resumed and defeated the teams that were seeded fourth and second . In the end, they took third place. We are so proud of them! Pictured are Ayden Dong, Vaughn Vacca, Jaylynn Miller, Chloe Buck, Madox Plunkett, Shayla Benson, Lily Kate Doughty, Alec Erickson, Madison Fowler, and Serenity Fraser.


The Mena Ladycats lose 35-37 Saturday & finish 4th in the 4A South Regional Tournament. Mena will play the 3rd place team from the 4A North Regional at 4pm on Wednesday in the 4A State Tournament in Farmington.



The Mena Sr. Girls lost to Star City 27-32 in the regional semi-finals Friday.The Ladycats will play again on Saturday at noon. The opponent will be the loser of the Crossett/Nashville game & will determine the 3rd & 4th seed in the state tournament to be played next week in Farmington.

Mena Ladycats by defeating Magnolia yesterday will now play in the second round of the Regional Tournament today. They will face Star City at 4:00 this afternoon.
All FFA Members who are competing in the Wildhog Invitational CDE’s tomorrow, February 29, will be leaving the Ag. Building @ 5 a.m. Saturday morning. Teams that will be going are: Nursery/Landscape, Forestry, Ag Mechanics and Vet Science.
Congratulations to the Bearcat Chorus for earning composite Excellent R and the Spotlight Singers for earning composite Superior at Choral Performance Assessment. Both groups earned Superior in sight reading and qualified for State CPA in April. Spotlight Singers earned Region Sweepstakes.

Students, several of you are leaving your breakfast and lunch trash on the cafeteria tables. Please throw your trash away once you’ve finished your meal.

We are seeing an increase in students using their cellphones, earbuds, air pods, etc in the hallways and classrooms. You have been warned enough that if this continues, you stand a good chance of having your device confiscated and not getting it back until a parent picks it up from the office.

As many of you know a storm in early January produced lightning that scored a direct hit on one of the light poles at Union Bank Park. That pole was damaged to the extent that it had to be removed. A new pole is being erected today.
