Tuesday, February 25, FFA Group Photo for the yearbook will be taken during Enrichment
Wednesday, February 26, FBLA Group Photo for the yearbook will be taken during Enrichment. FBLA members, please wear your District FBLA red shirt for the photo.
Sports Activities
Tuesday, February 25, Baseball Game @ Mt. Ida 5:00 pm
FFA Members who are participating in the Sub-Area Leadership Events @ Cossatot High School on Monday will be leaving from the Ag Building at 4:30 p.m. Bring your official dress.
HUB Program Applications are available in Mrs. Buckley's office. If you are interested in the HUB program for 2020-2021, you are welcome to pick up an application in the office.
Seniors, please complete the Mr. and Ms. Bearcat ballot on Google Classroom by the end of the day today. These results will also be part of the 2020 MHS Yearbook.
JAG Work Applications (upcoming juniors and seniors) are available for next year's JAG Work class. You can pick up an application from Mrs. Purvis (room 403), counseling center, or online at karenpurvis.wixsite.com/mhsjag. Return applications to Mrs. Purvis or Mrs. Thacker or Enrichment teacher. Priority deadline is this Friday, February 21.
If you did not order your 2020 Yearbook yet, this week will be your last chance to place an order before all final orders are submitted for printing on Friday. Yearbooks are $60, and can be ordered with cash or check. See Mr. Philpot in room 205 for more information or to place your last chance order.
The Independent Living Class will have Hot Chocolate, Cappuccinos and Coffees for sale daily before school starts for $1.00 each. Stop by and see them in the hallway.

The Mena Ladycats lost to DeQueen in the 7-4A District Tournament Finals on Saturday by a score of 26-33. Mena will play in the 4A Regional Tournament in Crossett on Thursday 2/27 at 4pm. GO LADYCATS!

Mena students are representing Holly Harshman Elementary & Mena MIddle School in the UA Rich Mountain Science Fair at the Ouachita Center today!

Lost and Found items will be emptied today.
FBLA, FCCLA, Leadership students who are interested in going on the Magic Springs trip will meet in Mrs. Smith’s room right after these announcements.
Quiz Bowl teams will have group photos taken on Monday. Bring your trophies and certificates
The 8th grade group photo will be taken next Tuesday.
One week from today is the deadline to order a yearbook and to register for Mena Youth League baseball & Softball.
Students, if you have a class in the gym, you need to stay in the gym until the bell rings and do not roam around in the Cafeteria or halls.
Once again, there were several footballs, basketballs, etc left outside yesterday after both lunches. The ball box will be locked during both lunches for a few days.

The Benefit Game at Mount Ida will NOT be played Monday 2-24 due to weather and field conditions. The current plan is to play the game on Tuesday 2-25. Hopefully we will get good enough weather to get the game in.

The James K. Polk Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution named Mena High School senior FAITH CHANEY their 2020 Good Citizen during a meeting at the Polk County Library Thursday night.. Regent Cortez Copher also announced that Chaney had claimed first place in Arkansas & will be honored at the DAR State Conference on Saturday, March 21st.
The James K. Polk Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution awarded Mena Middle School's Tommy Johnson a certificate naming him their Outstanding American History Teacher during a meeting at the Polk County Library Thursday night..
The Mena Ladycats have advanced to the 7-4A District Tournament Championship Game with a 48-46 win over Nashville Thursday.. The girls will play the winner of the DeQueen/Bauxite game in the finals on Saturday at 6pm in Malvern,, GO LADYCATS!
Congratulations Mrs. Kathy Smallwood who won the Vyve Teacher of the Month! This is voted online by parents and students.
There will be a spring football parent meeting at 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 25, at the Mena High School Performing Arts Center. This meeting is for all guardians of incoming 7th grade through high school athletes. The summer schedule will be handed out and discussed.
