
A volleyball match has been added to the schedule for Monday 10/14 at Mansfield. 7th, Jr. JV, and Jr. Varsity starting at 4:30pm. GO LADYCATS!


The Jr. Bearcats played Dover Thursday night. The Dover 7th grade team beat Mena 18-8. The Jr. High contest ended in a 6-6 tie when play ended due to approaching storms & lightning.

The Ladycats played Bauxite Thursday at the UBC. The Jr. High won 2-0. The Senior JV won 2-0 & the Sr. Ladycats won 3-0.. Mena will play in a tournament at Paris this Saturday!

Seniors, there is a Senior Quotes Google Form available in the Class of 2020 Enrichment Site on Google Classroom for you to complete. The yearbook staff is gathering your senior quotes for the 2020 Yearbook, so please have your quotes submitted on this form by Friday, October 18.

Girls can sign up for a Powder Puff Football Tournament in Ms.Hobson’s room. Each class will have a team and compete against each other on November 4th. The cost is $3 to play and all proceeds go to Relay for Life.
Ninth grade GT students who want to participate in the Jr. High Quiz Bowl team will have practice during TEAM on Thursday at the middle school campus. Sr. High Quiz bowl practice will be at Holly Harshman immediately after school on Thursday as well. (Mrs. Moore’s room)

The Ladycats played two varsity matches at Little Rock Mills Tuesday. Mena won the 1st match 3-0 by scores of 25-16, 25-6, 25-7. Mena also won the 2nd match 3-0 by scores of 25-8, 25-12, 25-11. The Ladycats will host Bauxite on Thursday at the UBC!

Tonight: The MMS 6th grade Choir will present their fall concert, A World of Music, 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium.
Tomorrow: The annual Fields of Faith will take place at Bearcat Stadium beginning at 5:30 pm.
Thursday: The Jr High Bearcat football team will be hosting Dover at Bearcat Stadium and the Lady Cats Jr JV and Senior High volleyball teams will be hosting Bauxite at the Union Bank Center at the High School.
This Friday, the EAST students will be conducting a fund raiser for our local pet shelters. There will be a Doggie Fashion Show on the front lawn of our school at 5:00 pm. If you would like to enter your dog in this event, the cost is $10. Prizes will be awarded. For more information, you can pick up a flier from the front office.

The Mena Tennis Team competed in the 7-4A District Tournament in Arkadelphia on Monday.
In girls doubles play McKenzie Strother & Madi Linch won their opening match 9-7. Marissa Ortiz & Stephanie Lua won their quarterfinal match 6-0/6-0 but lost in the semi-finals. Ortiz & Lua then won the 3td place match 4-6/6-3/10-4. Four 3rd place finishers out of six districts will be selected for the state tournament. They will await the state committee's bid.
In boys doubles Luke Montgomery & Brendon Brown lost their opening match 2-6/1-6. Eli Cook & Wilson Hughes won their first match 6-3/6-1 before falling to the #1 seed in the semi-finals 1-6/5-7. Cook & Wilson finished 4th.
In boys singles action Austin Rose won his opening match 6-4/6-0 then lost in the semi's 6-3/2-6/8-10. Will Davis won his opening match 6-0/6-0, lost in the semi's & then beat Austin Rose in the 3rd place match 7-5/6-1. Like Ortiz & Lua, Davis will await the state committees bid to the state tournament.


Mena Jr. Volleyball played at Hot Springs Lakeside Monday. The 7th grade lost 2 to 0. The JV lost 2 to 0
& the Ladycat Varsity won 2 to 1. The Jr. & Sr. High will play Bauxite on Thursday @ 4pm in the Union Bank Center. Go Ladycats!


Excitement is in the air when the Scholastic Book Fair arrives! The countdown is on and the book fair will be opening next week at LDE!


The Mena Volleyball Team will be playing in the Lady Eagle Invitational at Paris this Saturday October 12th.. GO LADYCATS!
