The Mena Ladycat and Bearcat Jr. High Track teams competed at the Cub Relays in Dequeen on Tuesday.

Bentley Brewer lead the boys by finishing:

2nd-400 Meter Dash

2nd- Long Jump

5th-300 Meter Hurdles

6th-Triple Jump

Skylar Bahr won the High Point Award and lead the girls by finishing:

1st-Pole Vault

1st-400 Meter Dash

2nd-Triple Jump

3rd- 200 Meter Dash

4th-Long Jump

5th-100 Meter Dash

Avori Gortemiller finished 4th in the 1600 Meter Run and the 800 Meter Relay team was 3rd.

Mena High School FCCLA partnered with Keep Arkansas Beautiful to hold a community clean up event on Monday, March 2nd. Students spent 3 hours on their day off school cleaning local roads around campus and town. Thank you to Wal-Mart for donating water and snacks for this event!

Mena Coach Zen Valencia was the guest speaker today at the Polk County Rotary Club. He spoke about how much the program has grown over the past four years as well as their postseason performance. He educated the audience on the sport of wrestling; acquired skills, nutrition, training, and confidence that is gained through the sport of wrestling. Additionally, he spoke about the new youth wrestling program in our community.

The Arkansas State Wrestling Tournament is in the books and what a show your Mena Wrestlers put on here in Little Rock!
We had 16 kids qualify for state reaching All Region status, out of those 16, seven of them reached All State status!
We had 2 young ladies that wrestle their hearts out for 3rd place but fell just short.

On the boys side we had two wrestlers won their matches for 3rd place!

We had three boys reach the State Championship match but sadly all three fell short.
