The Mena Ladycat and Bearcat Jr. High Track teams competed at the Cub Relays in Dequeen on Tuesday.
Bentley Brewer lead the boys by finishing:

5th-300 Meter Hurdles
6th-Triple Jump
Skylar Bahr won the High Point Award and lead the girls by finishing:
1st-Pole Vault
1st-400 Meter Dash
2nd-Triple Jump
3rd- 200 Meter Dash
4th-Long Jump
5th-100 Meter Dash
Avori Gortemiller finished 4th in the 1600 Meter Run and the 800 Meter Relay team was 3rd.

Reading is a SLAM DUNK! Mrs. Floyd's class enjoyed having stories read to them by Bearcat basketball players on Tuesday.
Mena High School FCCLA partnered with Keep Arkansas Beautiful to hold a community clean up event on Monday, March 2nd. Students spent 3 hours on their day off school cleaning local roads around campus and town. Thank you to Wal-Mart for donating water and snacks for this event!
Mena Bearcat Baseball will be playing in the Ralph Gross Memorial Tournament in Nashville this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Mena Middle School Project Prevent Team celebrated Threw with Chew Week on Friday with the annual Pickle you Choices Wisely event. Team members traded a pickle for a pledge to be Chew/Spit tobacco/nicotine free. Members collected 218 pledges.
Mena High School hosted the Basketball Skills Competition for Special Olympics on Monday in the Union Bank Center. Athletes from LD, HHE, MMS, MHS, and PCDC competed.
Mr. McCormick’s Animal Science and Animal Science 2 classes have been busy learning about sheep and goat production by bottle feeding, vaccinating, docking tails on the lambs, and banding the males of the orphan lambs and (goat) kids.
This week Mrs. Sawyer's class was on a secret mission to spread kindness all around our school!
The Mena team won 1st place on Friday in the Sr. High Quiz Bowl at the Dequeen Mena Education Service Cooperative.

So much fun was had by MMS students and parents at BATTLE @ THE HAC!
Mena Coach Zen Valencia was the guest speaker today at the Polk County Rotary Club. He spoke about how much the program has grown over the past four years as well as their postseason performance. He educated the audience on the sport of wrestling; acquired skills, nutrition, training, and confidence that is gained through the sport of wrestling. Additionally, he spoke about the new youth wrestling program in our community.

We had 16 kids qualify for state reaching All Region status, out of those 16, seven of them reached All State status!
We had 2 young ladies that wrestle their hearts out for 3rd place but fell just short.
