Mena High School would like to recognize the students that worked our Prom last night! We had Student Council, FCCLA, & FBLA members as well as cheerleaders & football players that stepped up to volunteer their time! They served and cleaned for over 3 hours and we couldn’t have done it without them!

Player of the week went to Freshman Rhett Brotherton. Rhett started pitching and won our road conference game at Malvern with 6 strikeouts.also came in relief and pitched good in our game vs Fountain Lake. Rhett also had 3 RBI’s in the Horatio game. Congratulations Rhett and Go Bearcats!

A back and forth soccer game at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium ended in unique fashion & resulted in a win for the Bearcats.

Robinson was leading 6-5 late in the contest when apparent unsportsmanlike actions by Robinson ended play. The referees halted the game with 1:06 to go and awarded Mena a 3-0 win.

Lily Rowland was selected Matt Thonas State farm Insurance as Ladycat player of the week for last week. She hit the go ahead home run at Malvern and batted over .500 for the week. She also showed the mental toughness of a Ladycat by playing through a severely jammed finger.

Holly Harshman Elementary prepared for ACT Aspire Testing next week with a Friday morning pep rally ! The HHE Cheer Team fired up the students, a group from MHS found a way to lose a round of Family Feud to HHE & the students were rewarded with a little glow stick fun at the end.

Another great performance at the Mena Bands Spring Concert on Thursday at the MHS Performing Arts Center. The MHS Jazz Band, MMS Beginner Band, MMS Band & the MHS Band performed under the direction of Mr. Charles Morgan & Mr. Tyler Huntington

The Mena soccer games scheduled for Tuesday 4/26 have been moved to Monday 4/25 and the senior night ceremony will start at 4:30pm.


Mena Middle School students ALLISON HOWARD and BRE CRIDER spoke to the Mena School Board on Tuesday evening at their April meeting. The two are a part of Girls of Promise at MMS and were accompanied by their sponsor Mrs. Tiffany Luttmer. They spoke on their recent experience at the annual Girls of Promise Conference at the Arkansas 4-H Center! Eighth grade girls from 46 schools across the state of Arkansas attended. The girls met some amazing women who work in STEAM fields and enjoyed fun activities.
