2025 Mena High School Homecoming practice was held on Thursday in Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. The homecoming ceremony and crowning of the queen will be at 6:30pm on Friday in BCBS.

Rich Davis and Marcus Graves represented the Mena Bearcats at the 4A State Golf Tournament at the Highlands Course in Bella Vista on Tuesday. Rich finished fourth and just missed getting to go to the state overall by one stroke. Another great year for both of them.

Mena Tennis competed in the 7-4A District Tournament on Monday in Arkadelphia.
Girls Singles
Kili Cox won her first round match 8-0 to advance to the quarterfinals. Kili fell in the quarterfinals 4-6, 3-6. Chloe Stepp ran out to a 3-0 lead in her first round match but ended up losing 8-5.
Boys Singles
Mason Gortemiller lost a spirited first round match 8-4. Ashton Nordyke also lost in the first round 8-2.
Girls Doubles
Madi Fowler and MaKenna Lee made short work of their first round opponent, 8-0. However, Fowler and Lee lost in the quarterfinals in a tie break set (6-4, 4-6, 3-10). Paeyton Hostetler and Mollee Sharp won a very competitive first round match 8-6 but fell in the quarterfinals 4-6, 3-6 to Hope.
Boys Doubles
Eli Swall and Jackson Thompson played in the most competitive first round match of the tournament. However, they came out on the losing end of a tiebreak, falling 8-9. Levi Neufeld and Luke Rowland lost in the quarterfinals 2-6, 3-6 to Fountain Lake.
Coach Rowland would like to express his appreciation for all of his players, especially his seniors. (Kili Cox, Levi Neufeld, Chloe Stepp, Eli Swall, Jackson Thompson, and Kierstyn Tolleson). They provided great leadership throughout the year and established a foundation to build upon in the future.

The Mena Ladycats competed in the Lakeside MTXE Tournament on Saturday. During pool play, the Ladycats beat Beebe 3 sets to 0, and lost to Valley View 0 to 3. They finished second in their pool, and played Brookland in the first round of the Gold Bracket tournament. Losing 1 set to 2.

Bearcat Golf finished in 3rd place as a team at the 4-4A District Tournament on Thursday in Morrilton. Rich Davis finished in 2nd place and Marcus Graves was 3rd overall. Both qualified for state.
Mallori Brotherton lead the Ladycats with 7th place finish.


Heidi Odom, of Dry Bones Pottery, came to the morning theatre classes to talk about creativity and introduce pottery to students. Heidi will be helping create some of the hobbit table ware for our play with the help of some interested students. Also, she went to one of Mrs. Robertson’s advanced art class today to talk about the pottery process and tools. She was a very lively and knowledgeable guest. We very much enjoyed having her.

The Jr. Ladycats had a strong day on the court at the Ladycat Classic! They finished first in their pool after a three-way tie was decided by points in the head-to-head tiebreaker.
In the Gold Bracket, the girls came out strong with a 2-0 win over Mansfield. They then battled with Lake Hamilton but fell short, 0-2.
