If you can not attend, please stop by and pick up your FBLA district t-shirt. The FFA is holding its annual"Big Buck Contest" for the 2020 deer season. You must be a paid FFA member to enter. The buck must be a whitetail deer killed during the 2020 deer season. The buck must have been officially checked by the FFA member prior to scoring. The antlers will be scored by Mr Maye or Mr Goodnight. 1st Place-$100 2nd Place-$50 3rd Place- $25 If you have signed up for a FFA T-shirt in the Ag Building, you need to pay for it no later than Friday, November 6th. The cost is $15. Those that do not pay by Friday will not receive a shirt! The 2020 FCCLA T-Shirts are for sale in Ms.Hobson and Ms.Wilson’s room. The cost is $17. Ladatha Hobson's classes are having an Election Day Lab today. Baking and decorating sugar cookies, patriotic photo booth, and their own FACS election.

The Basscats were in action on Lake Millwood this past Sunday. They were competing in the AYFF Four States Bass Classic sponsored by Bradford Marine. Bradford Marine is the main sponsor for the Arkansas Youth Federation Team Trail. Austin Rose and Jarrett Burger took 6th place and caught the Big Bass for the tournament. Cooper Plunkett & Brady Montgomery also competed. The Basscats will be back in action December 5 on Lake Millwood for the Trader Bills High School Tournament Trail Series. The Ladycats played Valley View in the 4A State Tournament Semi-Finals today. It took five sets for Valley View to win & the scores were 25-21, 6-25, 25-23,12-25, 6-15. That concludes a great season for Mena. GO LADYCATS!!!

Claire Walston exhibited her market hog at the Arkansas Youth Expo and won 1st place in her weight class. She also was selected as the Reserve Champion 14 yr old showmanship winner at the Arkansas State Fair! Congratulations Claire!

Trinity has cancelled the football games that were scheduled for Thursday 10/29. Dover had cancelled the games scheduled for 11/3 earlier this week. Kiylee Hughes exhibited the Division 5 Champion Market Lamb at the Arkansas State Fair. She won over $2000 in scholarship earnings for her accomplishments! Congratulations Kiylee!

Dear Parents/Guardians, Our funding for next year is based on the number of meals that we serve this year and the number of free/reduced applications we receive. Which can be accessed on the Mena school website, under food service information. In an effort to maintain our funding for school year 21-22, Mena Public Schools will be providing meals for students participating in Flex Fridays, blended learning, and PCVA. Blended and PCVA students can request a week's worth of meals by accessing the link each week on the school website under food service information or there is a link shared on Facebook each week. Flex Friday meals will be sent home with students on Thursday afternoon with students who will not be attending in-person classes on Friday. In order to meet USDA meal pattern requirements, some items may need to be refrigerated as soon as your child arrives home. Please check their meal bags for these. There will be a form posted on the Mena Schools website, and the school's Facebook pages. We would appreciate you filling this out if you plan for your child to learn from home on Fridays.
