
Sophomore Brody Brown was named our week 5 Matt Thomas - State Farm Agent player of the week. Brody was huge in our 8-7 win over Mount Ida. He was 3-3 reaching base all 4 at bats and scored the game winning run in the last inning. Also pitched well for 3.1 innings!

She competed and won 1st place in a statewide virtual event called the Remote Original Artwork Competition! Way to go Olivia !!!

Attention Mena High School and Middle School Members: We are less than a month away from our annual Mena FFA End of Year Banquet! Our banquet will be in the Ouachita Center on the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain Campus. This event will be on Tuesday May 10th starting at 6pm! We encourage you to bring your Parents/Guardians to this event! FFA members remember to wear your official dress! For guys that means your jacket, white collard shirt, black slacks, FFA tie, black dress shoes. Girls that means your jacket, collard blouse, black skirt, panty hose, black heels, and FFA scarf. Remember this is a formal event and if you don't have official dress then please dress in business causal. Guys this means collard dress shirt, slacks or khakis, tie, belt, and dress shoes. For girls that means skirt or dress slacks, blouse, close toed shoes, or a dress.


Juniors & Seniors prom tickets are still available & can be purchased from Coach Hughes this week. Tickets are $30 each. Seniors, you will need to see her to name who you’re sitting with and choose your main course. The deadline is this Thursday, April 14th.

The James K. Polk Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium on Tuesday. Mena High School & Mena Middle School students attended a program welcoming home Vietnam Veterans.
Senior ANNIKA THOMPSON led The Pledge of Allegiance. The Bearcat Bella's sang The National Anthem. Mrs. Coogan performed God Bless the USA & junior KRISTIAN PELLEGRINO played TAPS at the conclusion of the program.

Mena High School Seniors Austin Rose and Jarrett Burger took 1st place and Big Bass on Lake Dardanelle Sunday in the Arkansas Youth Fishing Federation High School Tournament!!! They put over 7pounds between them and the 2nd place team! Keep it going!!!!!

There will be a Senior Parent meeting on Wednesday, April 13th at 5:30pm in the MHS cafeteria. Parents may park in the student parking lot and enter through the cafeteria doors. The meeting is regarding supervision and help with After-Prom.


Week 4 Matt Thomas - State Farm Agent player of the week went to Senior Blake Brown. This is the 2nd time this season Blake has earned this award. Brown pitched 6 strong innings on the road at Nashville last Friday as the Bearcats beat the Scrappers. Congratulations Blake Brown

BEARCAT BASKETBALL RECEIVES AWARD OF EXCELLENCE!
When any varsity sports team concludes the season without any ejections being assessed to a coach, participant, school official, parent or other fan, the school submits a request form for an “Award of Excellence” for a specific AOA registered sport. The request may be submitted. AOA registered team sports include: baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, volleyball, and wrestling.
