The 2024-2025 wrestling season came to an end at the State Tournament on Saturday. The Ladycats had four All Region Wrestlers Lanie Taylor Paisley Burger Sydney Jones Evergrace Anderson The Bearcats had 11 All Region Wrestlers & 2 All State Wrestlers. Wyatt Head Cody Short Andrew Threlkeld Auden Woods Tripp Hensley (all state) Chance Hughes Beck Vacca Jace Hankammer Brody Peters Guice Anderson (all state) Carter Cossey The Bearcats finished as Back to Back Regional Champs! & 6th at the State Tournament! A special thanks to our volunteer coaches Sheriff Scott Sawyer & Cody Woods for spending so much time and energy into our kids.

Congratulations to Mena High School Junior Tripp Hensley on his 3rd Place finish in the 144 pound weight class and Guice Anderson on his 4th Place finish in the 190 pound weight class on Saturday at the 4A State Wrestling Tournament in Little Rock.

The Mena Bearcats kicked off the 2025 baseball season with a win at Union Bank Park on Thursday. Bearcats-12 (1-0) Subiaco-2 Mena is back in action on Monday at Fort Smith Northside.

Mena High School hosted the 2025 Special Olympics Basketball Skills Competition on Tuesday in the Union Bank Center. Athletes from Mena, Polk County Development Center, Cossatot River and Woodcrest competed. MHS students and community members helped coordinate the events and encouraged participants.

Mena High School athletes Elliot Dugan & Brynlee Bahr competed at the Arkansas Indoor High School Championships at the University of Arkansas on Saturday. Dugan finished 7th in the high jump and was 1st for 4A athletes. Bahr finished 7th in the pole vault and was 1st for 4A athletes. Mena Ladycats wrestlers competed at the 5A South Regional today for an opportunity to qualify for state. Three young ladies from Mena will be representing your Ladycats at State! 110 lb: 3rd place All Region Wrestler Lanie Taylor 130 lb: 2nd place All Region Wrestler Sydney Jones 155 lb: 4th place All Region Wrestler Evergrace Anderson We had a few more barely miss out on qualify for state. 105 lb: 5th place Harlee Pannell 115 lb: 6th place Emmi Hensley 120 lb: 5th place Paisley Burger All together as a team of six wrestlers we finished in 7th place as a team which is a very good job! Congratulations to all our Wrestlers!

Mena High School FBLA attended the District Spring Leadership Conference in Fort Smith on Wed, Feb 12th. We finished our first cycle in the weight room! 7th grade did their first ever maxes and 8th graders saw good improvements from their initial maxes. Pictured is Coach Morris’ group , who won the overall competition for the first cycle for the High School.

The King of Hearts Pep Rally was held on Friday in the Union Bank Center. Congratulations to JOKIAH LOOK for being crowned the 2025 King of Hearts & Prince Charming CARTER COSSEY.

Four Mena High School students won multiple awards 1st through 3rd at the Mena Art Gallery youth show - Norah Williams, Camilla Booher, and Belle Jaynes, with Kate Wilson receiving "Best in show". Their art pieces will be available to view at the Gallery through February 15.

Anna Burt loves a good mystery. She’s currently reading a book written by a true crime podcaster, Ashley Flowers. Come by the library to reserve it when she’s done!

The Mena Bearcats played Waldron in the Union Bank Center on Tuesday. Mena Bearcats-73 (14-11) Waldron-58 The boys play Dardanelle on Friday at the UBC.

Mena High School Seniors and Juniors had the opportunity to attend the Career Exploration Fair in the Ouachita Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain on Tuesday. Students engaged with local, regional and statewide industry, agencies and organizations.

Progress continues on the renovation and expansion of the concession and restrooms at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium.

The Be Pro Be Proud truck was at Mena High School on Tuesday. Our 9th grade students enjoyed the simulators & learning about skilled trade careers!

Mena Wrestling battled Arkadelphia on Wednesday in the Union Bank Center. Boys beat Arkadelphia 60-0! Girls beat Arkadelphia 30-24! For the boys this makes three duals in a row we haven’t had a boy lose! Very proud of them all. The Bearcats & Ladycats will be back in action Tuesday at Russellville starting at 6:00pm.
