
Holly Harshman Elementary will kick off the Great Kindness Challenge Week by having Monday, January 25th as Kindness Unites Day. Staff and students are encouraged to wear blue to show one’s commitment to be a part of the GKC movement! Students will receive blue “Be Kind” bracelets.
On Friday, January 29th, our students and staff will be encouraged to “Ride the Wave Of Kindness” by dressing in beach/surf attire. Students will receive “Be Kind” dog tags.


JAG Applications are now available for the 2021-22 school year for next’s year seniors and juniors. Online applications are at karenpurvis.wixsite.com/mhsjag. You can pick up a printed application from Karen Purvis, room 403, or your enrichment teacher. Applications will be available at the meeting for next’s juniors on January 28 during enrichment. There will be a meeting for any FFA member interested in the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program tomorrow during Enrichment in the Ag Building. Students will be given an application that must be taken home, filled out, and returned by Wednesday February 27th to be eligible to participate for the upcoming season. I. Reminders:
Cheer sign-up continues for current 7 th & 8 th graders – see Mrs. Breedlove.
Youth league sports sign-up forms are available in the main entrance, along with
yearbook order forms.
February 1 st is the deadline to order a personalized yearbook.
II. This is a reminder that we are not currently doing Flex Friday. Tomorrow, along with all
Fridays, is a regular school day until further notice.
III. If you stay home because you don’t feel well, you are not allowed to come to school just for
athletics, band, cheer, etc.
IV. 7 th & 8 th grade students: Please remember that at the end of your lunch period, ignore the
first bell you hear. That bell is for 6 th grade class change. The bell that ends your lunch
period rings 2 minutes later. Please do not enter the building on the first bell. This
schedule was set up this year for social distancing by limiting the number of students in the
hallways at once.
V. Lunchtime Weather: A decision will be made at lunchtime whether or not we will go
outside, based on the amount of standing water.

II. Do not use your school-owned Chromebook to play unauthorized games. If you are
playing one of these games, it will be blocked from the school server.
III. If you are interested in participating in the Mena Youth League Soccer, Baseball, or
Softball, there are sign-up forms on a table in the main hallway near the entrance to the
office. These are not school-sponsored teams, so please follow the instructions on the
forms and do not return them to the school.
IV. The last date to order a personalized yearbook is February 1 st . Forms are available in the
