Reminders:
Parent/Teacher Conferences are tomorrow from 3:30 – 6:30.
The FBLA March of Dimes Fundraiser will be Friday…For a $1 donation you can wear a hat all day and you can purchase hot chocolate during lunch on Friday.
Next Monday is the after school Smoke Screen movie for the members of BADD. See Mrs. Rose for permission slips.
6th grade ETS students will be meeting tomorrow during ACHIEVE. 8th grade ETS will meet on Monday.
Today during ACHIEVE, students who had all “A’s” on their first report card will be called out to get their honor roll reward.
Any student that needs an ID card needs to come by the office and sign the list either during ACHIEVE, between classes, or at lunch. The list is located on a podium near the main office.
The Student Council will meet with Mr. Sherrer today in the Conference Room right after these announcements.
To the GT Students from Mrs. Moore: 8th grade GT students need to be in the MMS Cafeteria tomorrow morning before 7:00 a.m. Also, you need to bring a lunch, along with your signed permission slip. Be sure and get the classwork you will miss tomorrow. These same instructions apply to the 7th grade GT students that will be going to Ashdown on Thursday.
Lunchtime Weather: If you have appropriate winter clothing, you will have the option of going outside during lunch today. You do have the option of staying inside, if you want to.

Students, please remember, you have to have money in your account to buy extras. Do not get extras unless you pay for it first.
Lunch A students: If you are acting inappropriately in the library during lunch, you’ll be asked to return to the cafeteria. If overall behavior does not improve, the library will be closed for Lunch A indefinitely.
Students are not to be in the hallways during Lunch A or Lunch B. The library, cafeteria, or patio are available areas during lunch.

The high school showing of The Yellow Boat will be Thursday, November 21st at 9:15 am. Bring $5 to your 2nd period teacher on that day. Make sure you are finished with your second chance breakfast before you go. There is no food, drinks, gum or candy in the PAC. Those who don’t want to attend will go to the library.
AE is hosting a food drive for God’s Feeding Hands Ministry through November 15. If your Enrichment class elects to participate, please bring a canned good to your Enrichment class. The class that donates the most, will receive a pizza party provided by AE.
Mrs. Jackson's class is in the lead for the most food brought for the Food Drive! She has a total of 44 cans! Keep up the great work!
BFI is selling Bearcat Football Playoff tshirts. They are only taking preorders and they are due by 5pm today! You can order and pay Ms.Hobson. They are black long sleeved tees.

Sci-Fi Club students - Lexi’s After School Gaming Group is cancelled for this afternoon. The other two groups will still meet.


The first basketball games of the season were played at the Union Bank Center Monday night.. The first game saw the Mena Jr. Girls beat Mt. Pine 48-14. The Mena Jr. Boys beat the Red Devils 47-38 & the Mena Sr. Girls also won by a final score of 48-10... The Jr. Teams play at Greenwood on Tuesday & the Sr. Girls play at the Robinson Invitation on 11/18, 11/20 & 11/23..

Announcements for Monday, November 11th
Picture retakes will take place on Wednesday, November 20th. These pictures are voluntary. Forms will be available in your ACHIEVE class today.
Upcoming Events This Week:
Tonight – There will be 4 Jr High basketball games at the UBC at MHS tonight beginning at 5:00.
Wednesday: Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place in the MMS Cafeteria from 3:30 – 6:30. Mid-term progress reports will be handed out.
Friday: The Mena Bearcats Sr High football team will travel to Gosnell for the first round of the 4-A State playoffs.
From Mrs. Sikes: FBLA members be sure and read your FBLA Google Classroom announcement. Mena Middle School FBLA is having a fundraiser on Friday for March of Dimes. On that day, students will be able to wear their favorite cap or hat to school for $1 donation. You will also be able to purchase a cup of hot chocolate at lunch on Friday for $1.00. The $1 donation for wearing the hat will be turned in to your 1st period teacher on Friday. Also, right after these announcements, Mrs. Sikes needs to see Caroline Cannon, Hailey Emerson, Makayla Vega, Elaina Aleshire and Jocelyn Hernandez.
Students, just a reminder that anytime you have to “buzz in” at either of our security entrances, please stay in front of the camera so that our office staff can identify you.
After these announcements, 7th grade ETS students will meet in the Cafeteria. 6th grade ETS will be meeting on Wednesday, and 8th grade ETS next Monday.

Mena competed in the Arkansas State Cross Country Championship in Hot Springs Saturday. Junior Logan Myers led the team with a 14th place finish with a time of 18:04.30. Click on the link for the full results.. GO BEARCATS!

Reminders:
Parent / Teacher Mid-Term Conferences are next Wednesday.
The Veterans’ Thank You Card will be available for you to sign in the cafeteria for the next couple of days.
Picture Re-Takes will take place on Wednesday, November 20th. These pictures are voluntary. Forms will be available in your ACHIEVE class on Monday.
The following groups will be meeting right after today’s announcements:
FBLA in Mrs. Sikes’ room.
BADD Club in the gym for a group photo.
Mrs. Smith needs to see anyone helping with the Veterans’ Day Luncheon.
If the weather permits, we will all be going out to the bus loop on Monday to show our support as the Veterans’ Parade goes by.
Lunchtime Weather: The current temperature is ____, so we will be going outside at lunch today. Several of you are still coming to school in shorts and / or no coat or jacket. As we’ve told you before, we will still go outside at lunch, even on cold days unless we determine that it is just too cold. If you need a coat or jacket, there are plenty in the lost & found box.
