Announcements for Thursday, November 7th Reminders: The BADD Club will have a group photo taken tomorrow during ACHIEVE – wear your BADD shirts. Parent / Teacher Mid-Term Conferences are next Wednesday. There will be an FBLA meeting tomorrow during ACHIEVE in Mrs. Sikes’ room. The Veterans’ Thank You Card will be available for you to sign in the cafeteria for the next couple of days. If the weather permits, we will all be going out to the bus loop on Monday to show our support as the Veterans’ Parade goes by. From the EAST class: They have t-shirts for sale, $18 each. Order forms and a sample shirt are located in the Library. The Cafeteria’s Thanksgiving Dinner that was scheduled for next Wednesday has been moved to Wednesday, November 20th. Students you must get a juice and/or fruit at breakfast. Students, please remember, you have to have money in your account to buy extras. Do not get extras unless you pay for it first. Lunch A students: If you are acting inappropriately in the library during lunch, you’ll be asked to return to the cafeteria. If overall behavior does not improve, the library will be closed for Lunch A indefinitely. Students are not to be in the hallways during Lunch A or Lunch B. Tommy Johnson's 8th grade History class at Mena Middle School held a Constitution Poster Event on Friday, November 1st in the library. Ms. Cortez Copher and Ms Shelly Collins from the James K. Polk Chapter of the DAR were invited to come see the posters and visit with students. The students had previously studied the United States at the end of the Revolutionary War as well as the US Constitution.and the Bill of Rights. The students participated in discussions and exercises that emphasized the freedoms outlined in the Constitution and the impact on our society today. The posters displayed the rights and freedoms enjoyed by generations of Americans.
