3rd grade Math /science teachers at HHE are doing unusual strategies to help kids understand decompose/distributive properties in math. Mrs. Woodral is "fishing" Mrs. Parsons is "cooking" and Mrs. White is doing surgery! All 120ish students will rotate through all 3 teachers.

Senior Picture Retakes and Make-Up Pictures is taking place today. Due to maintenance in the MHS safe room, we will be doing the pictures in the middle school safe room. For anyone who missed Senior Pictures in July, we will need your pictures for the yearbook. Anyone who wishes to get retakes, it will be $10 for the session. Please wait for your name to be called out to come to the safe room for your photo session.
School Day pictures with Lifetouch for students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade, as well as faculty, will be tomorrow, September 24 here at Mena High School. The pictures will be taken in the middle school safe room.
If you are interested in joining NEHS and you missed it during the Club Fair, go see Mrs. Neufeld in Room 207 by Tuesday, Sept 24.
Homecoming Shirts are available for preorder in Ms.Hobson’s room. The cost is $15 for size S-XL and $17 for size 2X-4X. You must pay when you order and the deadline is September 25th.

If you would like to donate blood there is a sign up sheet in the nurse's office. The blood drive is Tuesday Oct 1.

The Mena Junior Ladycats felt right at home today in the familiarity of the Union Bank Center in the Junior Ladycat Classic, advancing to the finals where they took on defeated Paris 2-1. The win over Paris crowned the Junior Ladycats the champions of the 2019 Junior Ladycat Classic Volleyball Tournament gold bracket.


Lets here it for the 3rd grade !!!!! They won the spirit award at the Holly Harshman Peace Day Pep Rally!!! GO 3rd GRADE BEARCATS!!!!


Holly Harshman Elementary students & staff capped off peace day with a pep rally. A big thanks to Mr. Vacca for bringing his therapy dog to meet everyone. "Say No to Violence and Yes to Peace!"

The Mena Tennis Team is on a roll & it continued on Thursday in a dual meet with Malvern & Hope... Marisa Ortiz & Stephanie Lua both won their singles match & team up to win doubles as well 6-1... In boys doubles play the team of Luke Montgomery/Brendon Brown won 6-0.. Eli Cook/Wilson Hughes won 6-4 & Austin Rose/Will Davis won 6-0.. Cook, Davis & Rose also won convincingly in singles play... The Mena 7th Grade Football Team got off to a fast start & never looked back enroute to a 40-0 win on Thursday night at Bearcat Stadium.. The Jr. Teams are back in action on 9/26 at Ozark!! GO BEARCATS!

The first Jr. High pep rally of the year was Thursday at Jim Rackley Gymnasium. Dubbed "Throwback Thursday"! Go Bearcats Beat Dardanelle! Go Ladycats Beat Arkadelphia!





Mrs. Bridgett, Ms. Becky and Lily from the U of A extension office, came to our classes today and discussed the importance of apples! They made apple crisp for all the kids to eat and it was yummy!!! The students were also given special plates and a magazine with apple recipes!

The Jr. High Quiz Bowl team (9th grade GT students) will not have practice at the middle school during TEAM on Thursday, September 19th. However, the Sr. High Quiz Bowl team will meet after school (Thursday) at the Holly Harshman campus.
