The Mena Middle School Project Prevent Team met Wednesday to plan Spring events. Members also celebrated the season with games and breakfast. Merry Christmas from the MMS Project Prevent Team!


Mena Middle School 8th grade science students did a Snowman Stretch Christmas STEM challenge. They were given a limited number of supplies and a limited amount of time to create the tallest snowman possible. They had a blast and came up with some interesting snowman designs.


Mena High School Juniors and Seniors attended a Career Expo at UA Rich Mountain on Tuesday. Students were exposed to new and exciting career possibilities.


Mr. Steve , The Music Man, performed for Holly Harshman Elementary on Tuesday. The show is part of a social media awareness campaign by the Arkansas Department of Education where students are encouraged to be "CYBERWISE".

Mrs. Frost's Leadership Students at MMS recently sponsored a contest in which Achieve classes were invited to decorate their classroom doors for the holiday season. The judges were retired Mena teachers and Administrators, John & Robin Ponder and Mike & Melissa Hobson. Winner of the 3rd place trophy was Mrs. Swall's class. The second place winners were the combined classes of Mrs. Billings, Mrs. Frost, and Mrs. Sikes. The first place classroom received the first place trophy and a hot cocoa party. The first place class was Mrs. Parnell's Self Contained classroom.

It was a great night of music at the Performing Arts Center on Thursday. The Mena High School Concert Band & Jazz Band filled the facility with Christmas & as always it was well received by those who attended.

The Mena Middle School Band performed their Christmas Concert for the public on Thursday. The large crowd in the Performing Arts Center responded with thunderous applause.
