
The Mena Beginner Band knocked it out of the park on Thursday night at the Performing Arts Center. They performed several holiday classics as a part of their Christmas Concert.

The MENA HIGH SCHOOL Book Clubs met on Thursday and received their copy of the upcoming books! The clubs meet biweekly at lunchtime in the library.


Mena Coaches have selected #20, Grayson Fairless, and #2, Tre McMellon, as the Farm Bureau Insurance Players of the Month
for November.
Grayson is a Senior this year and plays Center for the Lady Cats. She averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals per
contest, for the first 6 games of the season. She has already accepted a scholarship to play basketball for the Ouachita Baptist
Lady Tigers next year! She plans to pursue a pre-med degree and then become a Doctor of Pharmacy, through the U of A system.
Grayson is the daughter of Loyd and Angela Fairless of Hatfield.
Tre is also a Senior this year and plays Point Guard for the Bearcats. He is the son of Jennifer and Chris McMellon. Tre averaged
9.5 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game, for the 5 games Mena played in November. Tre plans to attend UWI Welding School in Pottsville, upon his graduation from MHS and become a pipeline welder.

The Mena High School Bearcat Chorus filled the Performing Arts Center with Christmas cheer on Tuesday. Performing "Have a Holly, Jolly Christmas", "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", "White Christmas" & "Carol of the Bells". The final song of the night featured the chorus & the Bearcat Bellas on "Christmas Cannon Rock". If you were not there you missed a great performance by a very talented group of students.


The Bearcat Bellas were the highlight of the evening on Tuesday at the Union Bank Center. Performing "All I Want for Christmas is You", "Santa Baby" & "White Winter Hymnal" which drew the biggest applause of the night. Great job Bellas !!!

The Mena 7th & 8th Grade Choir performed their Christmas concert for the public on Tuesday at the Performing Arts Center. They sang "Jingle Bell Rock", "Run, Run Rudolph" & "Feliz Navidad" for the large crowd. They did a great job busting out those tunes !!!

The Mena 6th Grade Choir performed their Christmas show for the public on Tuesday at the Performing Arts Center. The group performed "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", "Winter Wonderland" & "Let it Go". The students did a fantastic job!

Yesterday, December 2, 2021, Mena Public School officials were made aware of a potential threat of violence made by two juvenile students in the district. School officials apprehended the students and notified the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. The students have been placed into the custody of the sheriff’s office and are not on campus. School district and sheriff’s office officials are conducting an investigation at this time.
