
There will be a Senior Parent meeting on Wednesday, April 13th at 5:30pm in the MHS cafeteria. Parents may park in the student parking lot and enter through the cafeteria doors. The meeting is regarding supervision and help with After-Prom.


Week 4 Matt Thomas - State Farm Agent player of the week went to Senior Blake Brown. This is the 2nd time this season Blake has earned this award. Brown pitched 6 strong innings on the road at Nashville last Friday as the Bearcats beat the Scrappers. Congratulations Blake Brown

BEARCAT BASKETBALL RECEIVES AWARD OF EXCELLENCE!
When any varsity sports team concludes the season without any ejections being assessed to a coach, participant, school official, parent or other fan, the school submits a request form for an “Award of Excellence” for a specific AOA registered sport. The request may be submitted. AOA registered team sports include: baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, volleyball, and wrestling.

The Mena Sr. High Ladycats & Bearcats competed at the Gaile Hainley Relays on Waldron on Thursday.
JAKE BROTHERTON led the Bearcats by winning the shot put & discus competition. The boys finished 4th as a team & the girls finished 9th.

The Department of Agriculture wishes to congratulate the high-point individuals from each Career Development Event that was held at Southern Arkansas University for the Southern District CDE's. Because of the students' hard work and dedication, each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship to SAU which was made possible by the SAU Foundation among others invested in FFA. Good luck at the state contest on Friday!
Claire Walston is from Mena High School. She was the high-point individual in the Livestock Judging contest. One big goal that Claire wants to achieve is to become an All-American Junior College Livestock Judge. After college, she would like to become a 4-H Extention Agent for Polk County and operate her own show pig operation called Grand Drive Genetics! I love all the memories that I have made in FFA with my friends and ag teachers.

Cindy Standridge escorted a group of her Mena High School students to the CTE Experience Day at the Arkansas Career Development Center on Tuesday. Auston Kirkendoll, Mathew Grossman, and Noah Snider were exposed to the hospitality industry, a driving simulator, carpentry, welding & more.

Congratulations to the Jr. Ladycats for their 1st place victory at the Waldron Relays on Tuesday. JADEN ROBERTS won the high jump, JAYDEN COX won the triple jump, ELLITO DUGAN won the 100 meter hurdles & they also won the 4x400 meter relay.
The Jr. Bearcats were led by ELIJAH SMITH who won the high jump.

Former Razorback and NBA star Sidney Moncrief & his wife Dr. Tanisha Moncrief spoke to a group of Mena High School students on Tuesday. Moncrief's team also included Mr. George Moncrief & Mr. Ron Watson. The presentation is a part of the G.R.I.T. at Work Career Readiness Initiative. The Moncrief Team is touring the state of Arkansas to instill emotional intelligence and soft skills principles into the students.
